Angelo notes: In 2020 the following grades sold for breakout prices: 9.0 CGC S.S. Lee for $426 in March; 9.4 CGC S.S. Lee in August for $740; 9.8 CGC in October for $1800. Along with Marvel Team-up #141, Spectacular #90 and Secret Wars #8 this book is a must have for the Spider-man collector/investor interested in the black suit which eventually becomes Venom.
Ben notes: A CGC 9.8 variant sold for $1,813 in November 2020. An "event" comic that received immediate collector interest, it is likely that many collectors may have not been able to load up at their local comic shop with as many copies as they wanted, and thus headed to the newsstands to add additional copies. We see an extraordinarily high number of CGC census copies of both the variant (relative to other CPVs) and the "regular" types for this particular issue.
